Thinking about enrolling in the MBA program at Spring Hill College? Here are some tips from former students and professors to help get you started.

Applying

  1. Write a cover letter for your application. Writing a cover letter lets the school get to know you better and can make a difference in your acceptance.
  2. Submit an application even if you are just shy of the minimum requirements. Some exceptions can be made in certain cases.
  3. Follow up your application with a phone call. It never hurts to double-check your application status and speak with Spring Hill staff one-on-one.

Planning

  1. Use Badgerweb and plan your courses in advance! It is possible to finish the MBA program in a year, but it requires you to be organized and plan ahead.
  2. Buy your books at the SHC bookstore if you are local. This will allow you a chance to visit the beautiful SHC campus and meet some friendly faces. If you can’t make the trip, then you can find some deals on used books on Amazon!
  3. Spread out the math courses. These can be challenging and if possible, it is recommended to take just one per semester instead of doubling up.

Implementing

  1. Do the discussion posts. Most of the courses have weekly discussion posts, which at first glance seem minimal in the overall grading scheme. However, once a week adds up and can be some easy points added to your final grade.
  2. Cs don’t get degrees! In the MBA program, you need to maintain a high GPA and C grades won’t get you there. Keep your grades up and don’t rely on Cs to carry you through.
  3. Talk to your professors. Just because it’s online doesn’t mean the professors aren’t engaged. They love to hear feedback and have conversations with their students and are available to help whenever possible.
