We think it’s a pretty special place: Spring Hill College in Mobile, Alabama. The first college in Alabama and the oldest Jesuit, Catholic college in the region, it’s where generations of leaders have been formed. Leaders in medicine and science, arts and education. Faith, justice and service.

It’s this tradition of leadership that’s igniting the next phase of educational innovation at Spring Hill College.

It’s how we’re moving forward.

E. Joseph Lee II, PhD, President of Spring Hill College, feels that spark in all the new programs, undergraduate and graduate, that are launching for students in fall 2020.

“We see a lot of growth in undergraduate programs and a lot of growth in online programs,” said Lee. Through the new programs offered, Lee shared that he expects growth in Business, Education and Nursing to meet the needs of Generation Z students. “This is what the world is looking for and it’s our responsibility to deliver the programs,” Lee added.

Spring Hill was named a College of Distinction for excellence in the Business and Nursing programs, for career services and forming leaders throughout their college experience.

What IS new at Spring Hill College?

● Undergraduate: Accelerated undergraduate business degree to an MBA in Supply Chain Management, the only program of its kind in Alabama.

● Introduction of undergraduate concentrations in Sports Management and Supply Chain Management.

● Fully online RN to BSN Nursing program.

● New online graduate programs in Education and Nursing.

● Newly launched online adult Continuing Studies program for those students who want to finish their business undergraduate degree plus five online professional certificates.

● A new eSports Athletics team, one of only 178 in the country.

These advancements are only the beginning of a pipeline of new programs and opportunities for students at Spring Hill. “We’re constantly exploring new offerings for our students. They are at the center of every opportunity reviewed and decision made,” added Lee “What will move them forward in today’s world and in their life’s purpose?”

A Washington Post article indicates that the introduction of a spate of new programs at colleges and universities across the country is a knee-jerk reaction to decreases in freshmen enrollment. Their premise is that decisions are made in haste. Lee states that Spring Hill, while focusing on enrollment, concentrates on developing programs that will empower students and allow them to live the value of their Spring Hill education throughout their lives. “We are strategic and purposeful in how we move forward in 2020 and beyond,” said Lee.

Differentiating a Spring Hill education during these turbulent enrollment times, whether on campus or online, is the attention the College pays to form leaders through its faith-based traditions. “We educate students for service. We educate them for commitment. We nurture them. Whether you are 18 or 80, it’s going to be the same approach.” Lee said. “We call it cura personalis. Care of the entire person, mind, body and spirit. That’s what Spring Hill’s all about.”
