The MBA program at Spring Hill College is not only rewarding, but it’s a good investment in your future.

I first enrolled in the online MBA program at SHC in the spring of 2019. My goal was to move through the program at a reasonable pace while keeping costs down, all while maintaining a full-time job at the same time. I was able to do both and maintain a 3.3 GPA all while creating valuable connections through networking with classmates and instructors.

The College itself is making national headlines — “Forbes” recently rated Spring Hill one of the top 10 colleges and universities in the country in a new return on investment calculator. Other schools on the list are Stanford, Harvard and the University of Texas. Coincidentally, two of my good friends are in the MBA programs at Harvard and University of Texas in Austin. I called them both to compare our respective programs as I was interested in how SHC held up against these other two prestigious universities.

We discussed each program at length and compared their differences and similarities. In our opinion, it seemed that one of the key benefits of Spring Hill was the small class sizes, which you don’t get at the larger universities. With an average of 10–20 students in each of my courses over the past year, there was never a time where I felt I was struggling to get a response from a professor or fellow classmate.

Another benefit was the online format of the program. Since the MBA at Spring Hill was built from the ground up to be online, there are no glitches or issues moving from class to class between semesters. They flow seamlessly from registration to coursework, all the way through finals. As someone who juggles four email addresses between work and contracting, this is something that was very appreciated.

Finally, we discussed the networking opportunities provided at each location. Harvard and UT have large cities backing up each university which allowed for some amazing networking events. However, Spring Hill relies more on its alumni network and faculty. As an example, during my time in the MBA program, I was able to connect with a national director at Facebook to discuss digital marketing over a conference call from her New York office. She was an alum of SHC and was more than happy to dedicate the time to a fellow grad. Since the student body is smaller, students and graduates see that connections like these are even more important and are happy to dedicate the time.

The MBA program took me just over a year to complete while working a full-time job as well as some contract work throughout the seasons. If I had pushed harder, I am confident that I could have completed the program in a shorter time period. The workload was fair but not overbearing and the faculty was knowledgeable and very willing to work with you when you needed extra help or concessions due to environmental factors.

I would recommend the MBA program at Spring Hill to anyone who is looking to move forward in their career or continue their education straight out of their undergraduate program.
